Our team is dedicated to providing top-notch life skills training for women and youth, and we are motivated by the remarkable changes we witness in the people we serve. At Yananiso, we advocate for accessible life skills education regardless of economic status. Our training is facilitated through two distinct centres:
1. Eve-olve: This initiative partners with both private and public-sector organizations to address issues related to women's emotional well-being and overall wellness.
2. Fortune Foundation: This program focuses on empowering high school students by enhancing their skills in Financial Literacy, Ethical Decision Making, and Business Management.
On Wednesday, 10 December 2025, Eve-olve hosted its annual Professional Woman’s Day Out, bringing together women from diverse backgrounds for a day of inspiration, learning, and meaningful connection. Guided by the theme “Indeed She Can,” the event celebrated resilience, growth, and the power of being equipped as a woman navigating both personal and professional spaces.
The highlight of the day was our main guest speaker, Janet Manyowa, who shared her journey of balancing a demanding professional career with her calling as a musician. Janet spoke candidly about the discipline, commitment, and intentional choices required to pursue excellence in more than one area of life. Her story challenged women to recognise that balance is not accidental. It is built through consistent effort and clarity of purpose.
Mental and emotional well-being took centre stage through Vickie Mlilo’s powerful discussion on women’s mental health. She unpacked how cultural expectations and societal norms often place an invisible burden on women, contributing to stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion. Her session encouraged women to acknowledge these pressures, prioritise their mental health, and seek support rather than carrying life’s challenges alone.
Coach Callie delivered a deeply inspiring testimony of overcoming domestic abuse to become one of Africa’s most influential fitness coaches. Her journey of courage, self-belief, and resilience reminded attendees that painful beginnings do not determine final outcomes. Her story was a powerful example of reclaiming identity and purpose despite adversity.
The theme of resilience continued with Kathy Chikowe, who shared her journey as a cancer survivor. She spoke openly about the emotional and financial challenges that accompany illness and highlighted the work of her organisation, 2nd Chance, which provides both financial and emotional support to those affected by cancer. Her message was one of hope, compassion, and community.
Financial empowerment featured strongly throughout the day. Team First Mutual was represented by Tafadzwa Zaranyika, who introduced the Imba Yangu programme - an initiative that allows individuals to pay a deposit towards purchasing a stand while including life assurance. This presentation opened minds to accessible pathways to property ownership. Tariro Manyati followed with practical insights on investments, emphasising the importance of starting early and consistently building a nest egg. The day concluded with Karen Jiri, who spoke on understanding money from an individual perspective, highlighting saving, budgeting, and investing as essential life skills for long-term stability.
Adding to the richness of the day were practical wellness sessions. Matifadza Shazha shared simple, affordable makeup techniques that boosted confidence, while Mrs Kaund generously dedicated the entire day to providing free blood pressure checks, reinforcing the importance of prioritising health.
The Eve-olve Professional Woman’s Day Out 2025 was a powerful reminder that when women are given the space, tools, and encouragement to grow, indeed she can.
